The Santa Barbara Plantation is a master planned mixed-use resort on the island of Curacao in the Southern Caribbean that is being developed by SFT Investments Limited and VIDA Group N.V. (collectively, the “Developer”). The Santa Barbara Plantation property is owned by SFT Investments Limited and Vida Group N.V. Christopher G. Smeets heads up the interests of the Smeets Family Trust. VIDA Group N.V. is real estate development and consulting company whose primary focus, over the past thirty-five years, has been on premier resort and master planned community projects. VIDA’s President, Jack Marshall, is a graduate of Stanford University in Architecture. Mr. Marshall held his first position of significant resort management responsibility when he headed up the development of Elkhorn at Sun Valley, Idaho, a 3,000 acre master planned resort community. Following his tenure at Elkhorn, he was recruited to direct all the real estate and development activities for Pebble Beach Company in California. While serving in this position for many years, Mr. Marshall was responsible for expansion of the Lodge, creation of the Poppy Hills Golf course, and design development of the Spanish Bay Resort, both in Pebble Beach. While at Pebble Beach, he also worked with Castle & Cooke to develop the preliminary master plan for the Island of Lanai in Hawaii. After Pebble Beach, Mr. Marshall became the President of Vail Associates, the largest and most highly regarded ski resort in the United States. While at Vail, he also served as the President of Beaver Creek during the conception and successful implementation of this resort community, a 3,000-acre year-round complex which has consistently won awards as the best master planned resort in the United States. In addition to the above, VIDA has assumed various responsibilities in the development of a number of other resort projects in the United States, Mexico and France. Rod Moser is a graduate of Montana State University and began his professional career in 1976 as a CPA with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Company. Following five-year career with PMM&Co., Mr. Moser was the controller of a publicly-traded oil & gas company in Denver. Mr. Moser was the founder of a succesful real estate brokerage and it investment company that he operated until it was sold in the late 1980's. Mr. Moser holds a real estate brokers license in California. For the past nineteen years, Mr. Moser has provided financial and development consulting services to VIDA Group and other golf and resort developers. The Developer is a group of experienced professionals in all disciplines required to successfully manage the development and operation of the Santa Barbara Plantation.
